FITTING DANCE TRIBUTE AT HEREFORDSHIRE COUNTRY FAIR

                                                       The Starlight Showstoppers

The work done by Hereford’s ‘Canary Girls’ was been remembered on Sunday 6th August at Herefordshire Country Fair. More than 30 women and one surviving man were presented with badges in honour of the highly dangerous work they carried out, making bombs during the second world war that turned their skin yellow.

The Starlight Showstoppers were asked to provide a dancing tribute to the Canary Girls in the WW1 Commemoration Tent.

The girls performed 3 numbers a Jive to Candyman, A Quickstep to Sing sing sing and a tap number to Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy.
